Strawberry Skies Weekly Jams: March 30th, 2022
Welcome back to another episode of the Strawberry Skies Weekly Jams radio show! This is a very special week, so I'm going to keep this short and sweet.
Last week, Taylor Hawkins, drummer for the Foo Fighters, unexpectedly passed away at 50 years old. The Foo Fighters have been a part of my life for quite literally as long as I can remember - when I was two years old I'd beg my parents to play them in the car, they were my first general admission/standing room concert at Citi Field when I was 12, and they were my first big concert back from COVID-19 a little less than a year ago.
This band is very special to me and always will be, so this loss hit me hard. I wanted to dedicate the entire show today to playing my favorite songs that Taylor Hawkins was a part of the Foo Fighters for - I hope you enjoy!
Additionally, fellow WQAQ show host Mike Singer wrote a beautiful tribute to Hawkins for our station website. You can check that out here.
If you're reading this between 6:00 and 7:00 PM EST on Thursday, March 31st, you can listen live right now here. If you're not reading this during that timeframe, you can listen to what I played using this week's Spotify playlist here!
All songs are by the Foo Fighters.
